The Umbria Research Agency (AUR), established in 2000, is the research agency of the regional government of Umbria. AUR aims to develop and to promote the socio-economic and territorial knowledge of Umbria region, through integrated activities of data collection, research, analysis, studies, information and dissemination upon emergent issues.
AUR, with reference to the regional context: arranges the collection, observation, and analysis of data referred to major economic, social and territorial quantities and phenomena; develops analyses, studies and researches regarding changes and trends related to the social and economical structure; arranges cognitive data for the formulation of territorial, economic and financial policy of the region; publishes an "Annual Report" on the economic and social trends of the region; promotes cooperation and operating relationships with ISTAT and local boards in order to create a territorial data base, in comparative and cognitive terms, as support of local programming choices and of negotiated programming instruments elaboration.
AUR supports regional policy, by taking part with its competences in the activities of the "Contract for the development and innovation of Umbria" (Patto per lo Sviluppo e l’innovazione dell'Umbria), that is the political and programming instrument for the implementation of the so-called "Umbria System".
AUR acts also as in-house agency for the Region of Umbria concerning the management of European projects of transnational cooperation. Among the past experiences in this field, AUR coordinated the participation of Umbria in the Regional Framework Operation “INNOREF” (Interreg IIIC East), concerning innovation, efficiency and sustainable development, awarded as best practice by Interreg programme for the performances in project management and communication strategies.
The Gal Genovese is a Development Agency, an equivalent public body that represents from a territorial point of view the urban hinterland and coastal area of the Province of Genoa (Nuts III).
Founded in 1997 by public and private bodies (main members are the Province of Genoa and the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa) and its function is to support the socio-economic development of Genoa Province creating synergies between private and public actors, supporting integrated and pilot projects using a bottom-up approach. It operates to promote the economic growth of the territory and the diffusion of innovative ideas for the development, also thanks to the link coast-hinterland.
The Agency owns a mix of environmental and naturalistic, administrative, economic and linguistic competences with efficient management ability. Thanks to that Gal Genovese collaborates with different subjects: local authorities, regional and national governmental departments and European Union countries.
The objectives and the activities of GAL are strictly in line with European principles, directed to favour the sustainable and integrated development and the competitiveness of the local/regional economic system.
Concerning the management of European Funds and transnational cooperation the Agency has participated to several European projects and collaborations with local bodies, that can be subdivided in five macro-areas for intervention theme :

In the field of waste management Gal Genovese was partner in “EWM – European Waste Management”, an Interreg IIIC project where it was responsible for the component about separate collection

ARMINES EMA-LG12P
Ecole des Mines d'Alès is a french engineer school located in South France. Aside of its teaching activities, EMA have three research centers supported by ARMINES. It explains why our logo is composed by EMA, ARMINES and LGI2P research center’s logos.
LGI2P Research center is one of the three EMA research centers. LGI2P is specialized into numerical intelligence. The main LGI2P topics are new information and communication technologies. Its main activities are: industry oriented research and development and valorization and transfer towards industry and corporations.
The LGI2P develops three kinds of actions: Network Research including international projects; Industry oriented partnerships and Local appliance of the research. The LGI2P is involved into the educational program of the Ecole des Mines d’Alès engineer school among which engineer-entrepreneurs and further education.
ARMINES is a structure for contractual research with 90% of its personnel working in research centers. ARMINES intends to encourage industry oriented research and represents more than 600 employees (teaching scientists, research engineers, PhDs, postgraduates, technicians, administrative personnel). Those research entities, composed by research centers of famous french engineer schools supported by ARMINES, are called “ARMINES Centers”. ARMINES is highly specialized into European projects partnerships. Until now, ARMINES has signed 130 European contracts of which 16% as coordinator for a global activity amount of 20.4 Million €.
The WASMAN project offers the opportunity of transfer research knowledge into local solid waste management. ARMINES / EMA-LGI2P common center intends to build an innovative tool to support decision for the WASMAN’s problematic and to provide accompaniment and methodology for its use and local appropriation.
Aragonese Federation of Municipalities, Regions and Provinces (FAMCP)
FAMCP was established in 1988 in Zaragoza, capital of the Aragón region. FAMCP represents all municipalities in Aragón (731 town councils, 33 regions and 3 provinces) among the 3 provinces: Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel.
FAMCP's board is composed by the elected politicians of the local public authorities from the region. The organisation also collaborates closely with regional department units responsible for regional development. The Federation’s mission is:
To defend and promote the municipalities’ general interests and their independence.
To provide juridical and economical help to the municipalities.
To implement promotion of local development, generating high wealth rates in our districts and municipalities.
To train city mayors, town councillors and municipality technicians.
To promote cultural development and guarantee technical-operational support in regional policies for local growth and socio-economic development.
To elaborate social and economical research studies, with special attention to rural areas.
FAMCP contributes to implement the EU policies development, programs and legislation on the region of Aragón. In addition the federation promotes the building of the Aragón’s image and influence in Europe and the benefits of working in partnership with other European regions. FAMCP has a wide experience in interregional cooperation and in the management of Structural Funds. In the past programme period FAMCP has coordinated as Lead Partner the Regional Framework Operation SMART, participated as partner in the Medocc project SPACE and in other EU programmes (EQUAL, Leonardo).
la Real is located in the province of Jaén and neighbouring to the provinces of Granada and Cordoba. The geographical extension of Alcalá la Real is around 263 Km2, with a population of 24.000 inhabitants. The town has an important historical, environmental, cultural and artistic heritage and consequently it is an attractive place for tourists.
The local council of Alcalá la Real has the administrative competences for managing the waste system. Its tasks include streets cleaning, collection and processing of solid waste. For accomplishing the mentioned tasks the municipality can count on three main resources: a provincial company which collect selectively solid waste (RESUR), a municipal company which supply water and process sewage (ADALSA) and a Special Employment Centre which clean the road network (-Gardens and Environment- “Jardines y Medioambiente”). Alcalá la Real, is working since long time in the waste management field with particular attention to waste collection and recycling. The municipality objective is to promote the volume of waste recycled and improve citizens’ awareness on waste impacts. On this purpose several initiatives have been adopted such as the campaign for reducing the use of plastic bags.

Trikala’s Municipal Enterprise for Social Development (D.E.K.A.)
D.E.K.A. has been established according to the guidelines and policies of the European Community concerning local and regional issues. Our main activity (according to the statute) is the Economic, Cultural and Social Growth of the Municipality of Trikala and of the Prefecture, generally through its active participation in the Developmental process for the exploitation of the European and Local resources, the undertaking of productive initiatives, the production of qualitatively upgraded services and the growth of manpower.
Our main subjects are human resources (continuous vocational training, education, social and professional integration of people with special needs, new employment opportunities), SME'S (development of the central information system (Data base for SME's), training), environment (development and conservation of the green areas, fighting river pollution, traffic organisation), tourism (development and exploitation of tourist funds).
The experience of our institution concerns vocational training, training of WOMEN / People with Special Needs, promotion of unemployed in the labor market, rendering of advisory supporting services, elaboration of studies / realization of researches, organization of meetings, congresses and events, environmental issues, cultural Activities and Tourism, studies, etc. DEKA has great experience on European Programs related with its objectives and subjects. Its staff constitutes of permanent scientific and administrative personnel while proportionally and in relation with the existing needs and requirements of each Program or Study collaborates with external scientific advisors and collaborators.

The Larnaca District Development Agency (ANETEL) is a non-profit organization formed in October of 2003 in the models of the development structures and mechanisms that function in the European Union. The status of the Agency is Public Equivalent Body and its action is especially in the District of Larnaca, Cyprus.
The main goals and objectives of LDA are to:
Give information and learn about matters of the European Union.
Support the Local Self-Government Organizations in their development role and planning.
Development planning of the broader area.
Exploitation of the available National and Communal funds, through the participation and management of different programs.
Technical support to the public and the authorities of the area, in the fields of education and preparation, improving the quality of life and generally the social-economical development.
Undertaking initiatives in subjects of protection of the environment, preservation of the cultural inheritance and development of its internal cohesion.
Development of the relations between the Local Self-Government of Cyprus and the Member-states of the European Union, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Balkan Countries.
Promotion of the possible collaboration of the Local Self-Government with the Public and Semi-Public authorities and the Private sector, trying for the collaboration and the difference of each member.
Management and Implementation of E.U. Programmes
Even that LDA is quite a new founded organization it has a big experience in EU projects. It has participations as PP in INTERREG IIIC (MONOPI) and INTERREG IIIB – ARCHIMED (M.I.D.A., WATERMAP, TECHNET, MESFIDE and MULTI-GATE). Also, it has been a LP in EQUAL: “New routes for Women”; Diversity Ambassadors; LEADER +: “Development of agrotourism and standardization of local traditional products”; SOLISOL-Eco-Museum of the Mediterranean. Furthermore, it has participation in the programmes R3L Initiative-European Networks of Learning Regions, in Leonardo da Vinci – “Experience new technologies and practices in EU countries”, RAISE PLUS and the program "Europe for citizens”. Currently, is a LP is INTERREG IVC “RegioClima” and has participations as partner in the programmes CCP Cyprus, Participating Democracy, Progress and also seven participations in MED projects (MEDLAB, WASMAN, MEDOSSIC, RIM-MED, DEVELOP-MED, SMILEYS, PHILOXENIA).
The Regional Development Agency (RDA) of Inner-Karst Region is a non-profit organization established in 2000. RDA performs the following undertakings:
Services in the area of designing and performing projects and regional structure policy;
Enhancement of local and regional development in the area of economy, social matters, spatial planning and environment;
Consultancy and enrichment of small economy development;
coordination of Scholarship scheme for Inner-Karst region
guidance on innovation and technological development;
designing, coordination and assessment of execution of regional development programme;
training and education;
activities directed to development of the region.
Main activities of RDA IKR are: consulting, training and education, coordination, designing and supervising projects, information, ensuring and coordinating financial resources – financial engineering. RDA has a good experiences in EU projects. The Agency acted as lead partner in several EU projects - programme INTERREG III A (SLO-HRA, Save our Waters clean and Crossed borders). RDA participated as project partner in the projects (SLO-HRA ZONET, Feasibility study of network of entrepreneurial zones in Inner-karst region, Adequate Human Recourses and The Way To Innovative Region) of the program INTERREG III A. RDA also participated in programme INTERREG III B with the project Immensity. The Agency developed and coordinated the project Education for introduction of renewable energy sources into the Notranjsko-Karst region within the programme Leonardo da Vinci.
Currently, RDA is the lead partner in the project MEDOSSIC financed by the programme MED. It is also leading the project Regional scholarship scheme (financed by the European Social Fund), preparing feasibility study for the economic center Perspektiva and is running the project ECO region (both financed by the European Regional Development Fund).
